Having achieved Phi Beta Kappa honors while attaining an undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Emmott subsequently earned his M.D. from University of Oklahoma in 1975. He then completed his residency in Urology at University of Kansas Medical Center in 1984. He has been practicing urology in Kansas City for over thirty years.
Dr. Emmott has been certified by the American Board of urology since 1986.
Licensed to practice medicine in both Kansas and Missouri, he pioneered the da Vinci™ (Robotic) Prostatectomy in the Kansas City area. He has successfully performed over 1500 robotic surgical procedures and he is the Director of Robotic Surgery at Shawnee Mission Hospital. Dr. Emmott was recognized by Ingram’s magazine as one of Kansas City’s Top Doctors in 2008. Dr. Emmott is also a specialist in male infertility with interest in microsurgical vasectomy reversal procedures.
