Dr. Gerald Park is a board-certified urologist.  Dr. Park completed his Urologic training at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he served as chief resident and was awarded the Pfizer Scholar Award in Urology.  Prior to that he received his B.A. from Rice University and his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.  He has presented scientific research at the American Urological Association national meeting and has published in the Journal of Urology.

Dr Park has pioneered BPH treatments by bringing Aquablation to the Kansas City Area.  He was the first surgeon to perform Aquablation in Kansas or Missouri.  In addition, he is one of a few surgeons that perform Laser Enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP, ThuLEP) for very large prostates.  UroLIFT and REZUM are also done by Dr Park in addition to the traditional TURP.  Dr. Park also performs outpatient procedures for female incontinence such as mid urethral slings, Botox, and Bulkamid.

In addition, Dr. Park was one of the first Urologists and surgeons in the Kansas City area to use the daVinci robot, and he is one of a few surgeons to use the Single Port (SP) robot that performs complex surgery through a single incision.  Dr. Park routinely uses the daVinci robot for cancer surgeries of the prostate, kidney, ureter, adrenal gland, and bladder.  He also does robotic reconstructive surgeries such as pyeloplasties for ureteropelvic junction obstruction and ureteral reimplants for ureteral strictures.  He has performed over 1,000 cases with the daVinci robot, and he has done the most robotic kidney cancer surgeries in Kansas City.

Dr. Park joined KCUC in 2000 and was named a Kansas City Top Doctor in 2009 by Ingram’s Magazine.  He has also been named a Kansas City Super Doctor for 9 years.  He previously served as the President of the medical staff at North Kansas City Hospital, and he is actively involved with leadership committees.
