Dr. Coster has been practicing radiation oncology in Kansas City for over 30 years. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. degree in biology, then obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Dr. Coster completed his residency in Radiation Oncology along with an American Cancer Society fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has been board certified in radiation oncology since 1993.

In 2023 Dr. Coster joined KCUC after many years of practice at the University of Kansas. Dr. Coster has extensive experience treating a cross section of cancers, particularly malignancies of the head/neck, prostate, bladder, breast, lung, skin, central nervous system, gastrointestinal system, eyes and lymphatic system. He has presented research at numerous regional and national meetings and has published numerous abstracts, original research articles and book chapters. He has been a principal investigator and co-investigator on many key clinical trials in oncology and was the co-chairman of the Protocol and Research Monitoring Committee at the University of Kansas for 10 years and served on the KU Institutional Review Board.

Dr. Coster has been named a Top Doctor and Super Doctor in Kansas City on many occasions and has been named a Regional Top Doctor by Castle Connolly. He considers thorough patient education a priority and emphasizes a collaborative approach to designing and implementing treatment plans for each patient.

Dr. Coster is an avid sports fan and lifelong athlete. He and his wife Suzanne are both proud to be transplanted Kansas Citians.
