Dr. Justin Albani received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed his surgical internship and residency in urology at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Following his residency, Dr. Albani completed a fellowship in robotic surgery and laparoscopy while serving as a clinical instructor at the Presbyterian Medical Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Albani is a board certified urologist, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, Christian Medical and Dental Association, as well as the Metropolitan Medical Society of Greater Kansas City, the Missouri State Medical Association, the Minimally Invasive Robotic Association, and the American Association of Clinical Urologists.
He has given numerous presentations and published several articles, abstracts, and book chapters in the field of general urology as well as robotic and laparoscopic surgery. Upon his arrival to the Kansas City area, Dr. Albani initiated the robotic surgery program at Liberty Hospital and has since performed over 500 robotic-assisted laparoscopic procedures. Because of his surgical experience, he has served as a proctor assisting in the instruction of other surgeons in the implementation of robotic surgery, and serves on the Editorial Board of Missouri Medicine: the Journal of the Missouri State Medical Association as a Contributing Editor.
Dr. Albani’s clinical interests are in urologic oncology, endourology, and reconstructive and ablative laparoscopic and robotic techniques including robotic-assisted prostatectomy, pyeloplasty, and partial nephrectomy, nephroureterectomy, and laparoscopic nephrectomy.
He believes in treating the patient first, rather than the disease and is committed to providing evidence-based contemporary care in a compassionate and personalized manner.
In June of 2024, Newsweek Magazine, in partnership with Statista, recognized Dr. Albani in their inaugural Top 150 – America’s Best Prostate Cancer Surgeons 2024.
