Dr. Lukas Hockman is a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist with a focus on the surgical treatment of complex and high-risk urologic cancers, including bladder, prostate, kidney, and testicular cancer. Patients are often referred to him for advanced or challenging cases requiring precision care and expert surgical judgment. He also treats non-oncologic conditions, such as enlarged prostate (BPH) and kidney stones.
After completing his medical degree and urology residency at the University of Missouri—where he was recognized for outstanding clinical care and research in robotic surgery—Dr. Hockman was selected for a fellowship in urologic oncology at Stanford University. There, he trained alongside leading experts in the field and gained advanced experience in minimally invasive and robotic techniques for cancer surgery. He is certified by the Society of Urologic Oncology (2022) and the American Board of Urology (2024).
Dr. Hockman leads patients through complex decisions with a clear, evidence-based approach tailored to their individual goals. He ensures each patient feels informed and supported, acting as a trusted surgical expert and guide throughout their care.
Originally from rural southwest Missouri, Dr. Hockman graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas. He now practices primarily at the St. Luke’s Plaza location, but also sees patients at our Lee Summit and Merriam locations.
Outside of work, Dr. Hockman enjoys traveling with his wife Rebecca and their dog Roo, exploring the outdoors, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s an avid golfer, cyclist, and snowboarder, with a growing love for surfing thanks to his time in California.
