Dr. Austenfeld has joined KCUC after completing his residency in the department of urology at The University of Kansas Medical Center through The University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2017. He received his B.A. in 2008 at Washington University in St. Louis and his M.D. at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Dr. Austenfeld practices all aspects of urology but has a particular interest and expertise in minimally-invasive treatment of kidney stones, enlarged prostates and robotic surgery. He uses the daVinci Robot for surgeries of the prostate, kidney and bladder conditions. He practices all aspects of urology including incontinence, prostate problems and cancers. He has published numerous articles and presentations at regional and national meetings. Dr. Austenfeld has also been actively engaged in research while at The University of Kansas Medical Center. He has received awards for outstanding surgery resident in 2014 and 2015 and the Dr. John D. Foret Urology award for Urologic Research.
He is a member of the American Urological Association and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Austenfeld is licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri.
