Dr. Ethirajan has been practicing in the greater Kansas City area since 1993. He created a concierge medical care model for cancer patients, believed to be the first of its kind in the nation and joined KCUC in 2016. His philosophy is to treat each patient by personalizing care that includes their environment and “bio-psychosocial” factors.

Dr. Ethirajan received his medical degree from University of Madras in 1982. After his clinical Pathology and Internal Medicine training at Boston University and Harvard affiliated hospitals, he completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship at University of California and a Medical Oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota in 1993. Dr. Ethirajan was initially board certified in Internal Medicine in 1992 and Medical Oncology in 1997, and currently in the Maintenance of Certification program. He is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas. He is on the active Medical Staff of Menorah Medical Center and Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Dr. Ethirajan is currently on the Board of Directors Center for Practical Bio-ethics and MetroCare. He has previously served on the boards of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City and the REACH foundation and numerous other local and national organizations. He has been Vice-Chair at HCA Midwest IRB since 2009. Dr. Ethirajan was the president of Menorah Medical Center Medical Staff in 2014, the Kansas Society of Clinical Oncology in 2010-2014 and the Metropolitan Medical Society (Now known as Kansas City Medical Society) in 2004.

He and his wife have been married for 37 years, have 3 grown children and a grandchild.
