Dr. Herrick has been practicing in Kansas City North since 1990. He is originally from San Francisco and moved to Springfield, Illinois when he was in high school. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a B.S. in Biology in 1981. Dr. Herrick received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University in 1985. He completed his internship and residency in Urology at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1990. Dr. Herrick has been board certified by the American Board of Urology since 1992 and was re-certified in 2012.

Dr. Herrick is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists and the Kansas City Metropolitan Medical Society. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the past president of the Clay-Platte County Medical Society. He has served on several committees at North Kansas City Hospital including Chairman of the Department of Surgery as well as President of the Medical Staff. Dr. Herrick is currently a member of the North Kansas City Hospital Board of Trustees and has served since 2009. He is also the President of KCUC.

Dr. Herrick is licensed to practice medicine in Missouri and Kansas. He is currently a member of the medical staff at North Kansas City Hospital, Liberty Hospital and St. Luke’s Northland Hospital. He is on KC Magazine’s list of Kansas City’s Super Doctors.

Dr. Herrick’s professional interests include general urology, including kidney stones, male health issues such as BPH, prostate cancer, low testosterone and no-scalpel vasectomy.  He has been performing robotic surgery since 2006.  He also has a special interest in neuromodulation.

Dr. Herrick is an avid Master’s swimmer and runner. But he’s not very fast. He and his wife have three children, two dogs and a cat.
