Dr. Tietjen has been practicing with KCUC since 1999. A Missouri native, Dr. Tietjen attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City receiving his undergraduate and Medical Degree through the university’s six year program. Dr. Tietjen then attended the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine, receiving his training as a general surgery intern and then urology resident. During his tenure at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Tietjen received training in all areas of urology including oncologic surgery, pediatric surgery, stone disease, infertility, and female pelvic floor repair. He spent an additional year performing urologic research involving the human androgen receptor and authored numerous papers and academic publications.

Dr. Tietjen is board certified by The American Board of Urology. He provides comprehensive urologic care in our Lee’s Summit and Overland Park offices. His practice includes an extensive experience in the surgical repair of pelvic floor disorders for female incontinence and prolapse. In addition, he is one of only a few area physicians who perform a neuromodulation procedure using the Interstim device for various bladder and pelvic floor disorders. He is trained in laparoscopic, microscopic, and robotic surgery which provides our patients with minimally invasive surgical options for their urologic disease.

Dr. Tietjen is licensed in both Missouri and Kansas. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Urology, and a member of the American Urologic Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the Missouri Medical Association, and Metropolitan Medical Society.
