Dr. Horwitz received his undergraduate degree with high honors from the University of Wisconsin — Madison in 1999. He continued his training at the University of Wisconsin — Madison and received his medical degree in 2003. While in medical school, he was class president, and was chosen for several awards including: the Lenehan Endowed Scholarship given to students deemed to be leaders among their classmates and the Medical Leadership and Service Award. Dr. Horwitz was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He then completed his urologic training at the University of Kansas in 2008 and graduated in one of the first classes to be formally trained in Robotic Surgery. As a Urology Resident Dr. Horwitz was able to present research at multiple respected professional conferences and worked as a research mentor in a program for beginning medical students.
Dr. Horwitz is Board Certified with the American Board of Urology working in a private practice at North Kansas City Hospital. He is trained to perform the latest surgical techniques including robotic surgery and many less invasive surgeries for enlarged prostate such as UROLIFT, REZUM, and laser vaporization of the prostate.
