Dr. Montgomery has been practicing in the field of urology since 1995. He received his undergraduate degree in 1986 from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his medical degree in 1990 from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He trained in general surgery at St. Luke’s Hospital from 1990–92 and completed his urology residency at Kansas University School of Medicine in 1995. He has been certified by the American Board of Urology since 1997.
Dr. Montgomery enjoys all aspects of urology yet maintains a specific interest in minimally invasive techniques. He and Dr. Emmott performed the first daVinci prostatectomy in 2003 and continues to be a leader in robotics, laparoscopy and other minimally invasive techniques. These techniques allow for excellent outcomes with quicker recovery and less pain to the patient.
