Last week, the physicians at KCUC performed the 200th Aquablation treatment in Kansas City at North Kansas City Hospital. KCUC was the first to bring this procedure to Kansas City and is the only Aquablation provider in Missouri.

What Is Aquablation Therapy?

Aquablation is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment for enlarged prostate that uses imaging, robotics, and a heat-free water jetto provide long-lasting relief with low rates of complications. During the procedure, a robotically controlled, heat-free water jet removes unwanted prostate tissue. This heat-free water jet allows the surgeon to remove the excess prostate tissue precisely and more safely than with other methods that use heat. Combining the water jet with robotic technology ensures that the prostate tissue is removed with less damage to surrounding nerves and tissue. This results in fewer side effects.
